On September 18, a regular session of the international scientific seminar "Measurement and Data Analysis in Psychology and Education," organized in partnership by the Moscow State University of Psychology and Education and the Institute of Education of the National Research University Higher School of Economics, took place.

The report "On the Comparability of Subjective Well-Being Measurement Results: From Primary to High School" was delivered by:

  • Tatiana Nikolaevna Kanonir, Ph.D. (Psych.), Associate Professor, Institute of Education, HSE University
  • Danil Pavlovich Talov, Master of Psychology, Junior Research Fellow, Postgraduate Student, Institute of Education, HSE University
  • Maxim Ruslanovich Kudyashov, Master of Psychology, Postgraduate Student, Institute of Education, HSE University

In their presentation, the speakers presented the results of a psychometric analysis of two versions of the multicomponent "Subjective Well-Being at School" questionnaire, designed for respondents of different age groups. Issues of comparability of results for students in grades 3, 4, and 5 were considered, and data on the analysis of the questionnaire's invariance for students in grades 5–11 were presented in detail. Particular attention was paid to the practical and research possibilities of using this tool for monitoring the well-being of schoolchildren—one of the key priorities of the modern educational system, alongside academic achievements.

The seminar continued with a discussion, during which experts discussed the relevance of the topic and the importance of creating reliable tools capable of accounting for age and gender dynamics when assessing the well-being of children and adolescents.

The discussants were Alexandra Alexeevna Bochaver, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, Leading Research Fellow, Director of the Center for Research on Modern Childhood at the Institute of Education of HSE University, and Anastasia Vladimirovna Gorbushina, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, Associate Professor, Acting Head of the Department of Psychology at Vyatka State University. The webinar was moderated by Elena Yuryevna Kardanova, Candidate of Physical and Mathematical Sciences, Scientific Supervisor of the Center for Psychometrics and Measurements in Education at the Institute of Education of HSE University.
