Results of the PsyJournals.ru Reader Interest Index: TOP 20 Articles of 2025

The PsyJournals.ru portal presents the results of its annual reader interest ranking – the TOP 20 articles from psychology and education journals for 2025. The ranking is based on the Reader Interest Index (RII), an integral indicator of reader engagement with scientific publications on the portal (views and downloads of full texts).

In 2025, the absolute leader was the article by T.A. Egorenko, A.V. Lobanova, and D.V. Chumachenko on the standardisation of the Russian‑language version of the Phillips School Anxiety Test (RII – 10,506). High positions were also taken by works on trauma and post‑traumatic disorders, psychometric validation of diagnostic methods, stress and coping, and the psychological safety of the educational environment.

The top ten of the ranking includes:

• Psychodiagnostic tools (standardization, adaptation, validation of questionnaires and tests).
• Research on the consequences of traumatic experience and psychotherapy methods (PTSD, EMDR).
• Reviews of contemporary trends (video games and cognitive processes, sibling relationships).

Analysis of the TOP 20 reveals several stable trends in reader interest:

• Demand for Tools: A significant portion of the ranking consists of publications presenting or analyzing diagnostic methods (school anxiety, stress, well-being, emotional intelligence, intellectual development).
• High Demand for Clinical and Counseling Issues: Topics such as trauma, complex PTSD, sexual abuse, autism, and decision-making difficulties consistently rank among the most read.
• Interest in Education Issues: Articles on the psychological safety of the educational environment, psychological education, learning difficulties, and the standardization of methods for children and adolescents made it into the ranking.

The distribution of publications by journal also deserves attention. The most pronounced concentration of interest is seen in journals focusing on clinical and counselling issues: three articles each in the TOP 20 come from Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy, Clinical and Special Psychology, and Modern Foreign Psychology.

Stable presence in the ranking is also shown by journals focused on legal and educational psychology: two articles each made it to the TOP 20 from the journals "Psychology and Law," "Psychological-Pedagogical Research," and "Psychological Science and Education."

The remaining positions in the ranking are formed by journals represented by one publication each: "Bulletin of Practical Psychology of Education," "Extreme Psychology and Personal Safety," "Experimental Psychology," "Autism and Developmental Disorders," and "Social Psychology and Society."

The "TOP 20 Articles – Readers' Choice" ranking complements traditional bibliometric indicators, allowing us to see the real interest of the professional community in topics, methods, and research results. This data is used by the portal and journal editorial boards when analyzing reader requests, planning thematic issues, and developing digital services for scientific communication.

Comparison with the results of 2024 shows that in 2025, the ranking retains continuity but shifts in emphasis. There is an observed change in the dominant demand: from problem-theoretical publications to instrumentally-oriented ones that ensure reproducibility and applied verifiability. At the same time, the effect of stable leadership and the preservation of a stable thematic core of reader interest is evident: psychodiagnostics in an educational context and evidence-based clinical-counseling issues of trauma continue to act as key "centers of attraction" for the portal's professional audience.
