On February 10, 2026, a Round Table on "Adolescents in the Digital Economy: How to Protect Rights and Avoid Risks" was held at the Public Chamber of the Russian Federation. The event was supported by the Presidential Commissioner for Children's Rights and took place within the framework of Safe Internet Week.
The Round Table addressed issues of adolescent employment in the online environment, particularly in the field of esports, as well as the associated risks.
Natalia Viktorovna Bogdanovich, expert at the Faculty of Legal Psychology, MSUPE, delivered a report and presented the "Navigator for the Prevention of Social Risks to Childhood in the Digital Environment," developed in 2025 following directives from the Government Commission on Minors' Affairs and Protection of Their Rights, the Russian Ministry of Education, jointly with the Russian Ministry of Health.
"In today's world, adolescents are increasingly encountering various risks and opportunities in the online environment. But how much do their parents, teachers, and other professionals working with them actually know about this? Everyone has probably heard of cyberbullying, but few are aware of in-game vandalism (griefing). Even fewer can recognize the signs indicating what is happening to a child or possess the algorithms for how to act in such situations," noted Natalia Viktorovna during the discussion.
According to the expert, the Navigator for the Prevention of Social Risks to Childhood contains developed recommendations for children, adolescents, parents, and specialists on developing cybersecurity skills and media competencies in minors. "It is precisely the task of adults to serve as a source of reliable information on how to protect oneself in difficult situations," concluded Natalia Bogdanovich.
