Well-Being of Children Undergoing Long-Term Treatment: The Journal "Psychological-Pedagogical Research" Prepares a Thematic Issue on Hospital Pedagogy

The editorial board of the journal "Psychological-Pedagogical Research" is preparing a thematic issue titled "Hospital Pedagogy: Well-Being of Children Undergoing Long-Term Treatment" for publication in September 2026 (No. 3-2026) .

Thematic editors of the issue:

  • Vitaly Vladimirovich Rubtsov, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Full Member of the Russian Academy of Education (RAO), Professor at the UNESCO Chair "Cultural-Historical Psychology of Childhood," President of Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE).
  • Sergey Vitalievich Sharikov, Candidate of Pedagogical Sciences, Head of the "UchimZnaem" (LearnKnow) project for hospital schools in Russia, Honored Worker of General Education of the Russian Federation, Professor at the Dmitry Rogachev National Medical Research Center for Pediatric Hematology, Oncology, and Immunology of the Russian Ministry of Health.

The issue will present theoretical and empirical research reflecting the value of education that considers the individual health characteristics and emotional state of children with chronic somatic diseases; research on aspects of the development of educational motivation, higher mental functions, and psychological well-being through the active involvement of young patients in the educational process (aligned with the cultural-historical concept); practical cases and experiences of hospital educators adapting forms and methods of work to create conditions for maximum self-actualization and realization of children in long-term treatment settings.
