Vice-Rector for External Relations of MSUPE Khozh-Akhmed Khaladov Visits Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia
The visit to the country's oldest pedagogical university is taking place on June 25–26 as part of an on-site monitoring of the implementation of infrastructure renovation projects at pedagogical universities under the federal project "Teachers and Mentors" of the national project "Youth and Children."
Last year, thanks to the federal project, the Herzen University building in St. Petersburg on Prospekt Stachek was equipped with classrooms for the fundamentals of security and defense of the Motherland, practical first aid skills training, an interactive laser shooting range, and a military-patriotic center. A new labor (technology) classroom was also opened in the university building on Voznesensky Prospekt.
This year, a music laboratory will appear in the university building on Kakhovskogo Street, and the fine arts, physics, chemistry, and biology classrooms in the building on the Moika River Embankment will be renovated. The university is also developing infrastructure for students' educational and extracurricular activities: spaces for collaborative independent work are being modernized, and a venue for thematic exhibitions, educational, popular science, and patriotic events is being created. The modernization is being carried out using modern office and public space design techniques and incorporates lean manufacturing principles.
Upon completion of all work, Herzen University plans to hold an official opening with demonstrations of the capabilities of the specialized classrooms and equipment, as well as organize a series of open educational events for students, faculty, and university partners.
