Extreme psychology explores the psychological patterns of human behavior in exceptional and high-risk conditions, such as aviation and space flights, underwater and underground environments, and remote or harsh regions of the world (e.g., the Arctic, high-altitude areas, and deserts). This field also examines the psychological impact on individuals, including children and adolescents, who experience extreme and challenging situations. Additionally, it studies behavioral patterns and deviations in high-risk professions where individuals must operate under extreme conditions.
What Makes Us Unique?
From the very beginning of their studies, students are actively engaged in both the academic process and extracurricular life at the faculty. Regular round tables and masterclasses are held, featuring leading experts in their respective fields. Additionally, both students and faculty members actively participate in extreme sports. Our faculty also conducts research in the field of "Psychological Support for Specialists in High-Risk Professions", with a focus on personnel serving with firearms in Russia’s penal enforcement system.
