Dear friends,

June 22 is one of the most sorrowful dates in our country's history. On this day 84 years ago, the Great Patriotic War began - the most severe ordeal that was overcome through the unity, self-sacrifice and boundless love for the Motherland of the entire Soviet people. Thanks to their fortitude and courage, our country and our future were protected from the brown plague.

For all of us, the memory of the Great Patriotic War, of those who took the enemy's blow and, sparing no effort, brought Victory closer, is sacred. It gives us the inner strength to serve our Fatherland, follow its traditions and unshakable spiritual and moral foundations.

Today, we are making every effort to preserve the memory of the wartime events, the heroes of those years, and pass it on to the younger generation. For this purpose, we are creating new museum spaces about the Great Patriotic War in schools, holding educational events of the "No Statute of Limitations" project and courage lessons, organizing patriotic and memorial actions dedicated to the heroism of our people during those harsh trials.

It is our sacred duty to remember and honor those who gave their lives for the Great Victory, to educate youth by the examples of courage and selflessness of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, and to preserve historical truth.

Eternal memory to the fallen! Eternal gratitude to the veterans!

Sergey Kravtsov

Minister of Education of the Russian Federation
