For the 2026/27 academic year, Russian universities will award additional points to applicants for participation in projects of the All-Russian public-state movement of children and youth, "Movement of the First" (Dvizhenie Pervykh). Six pedagogical universities subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education have already joined this initiative.
"Participants of the 'Movement of the First' are active, purposeful, and caring young people who, from their school years, demonstrate leadership qualities, responsibility, and a desire to benefit society. It is precisely such talented young individuals that the system of pedagogical education needs today. They are not afraid to take initiative, they know how to work in a team, and they are ready to become mentors for younger students," commented Sergey Kravtsov, Minister of Education of the Russian Federation.
