National Aggregated Ranking: MSUPE Maintains Position and Enters the 1st League
On the eve of the admissions campaign, the independent higher education assessment portal best-edu.ru published the latest National Aggregated Ranking.
The study, now in its eighth edition, covers 732 universities included in the new Ministry of Education and Science Efficiency Monitoring and serves as a key navigator for prospective students, experts, and the educational institutions themselves amid the deep transformation of the higher education system.
MSUPE maintained its position and entered the 1st League of the 2026 National Aggregated Ranking.
Among universities subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education, MSUPE is in the top three leaders.
Specifically, MSUPE received the highest positions in the ranking data for Employment, Tabiturient, International Recognition, Ranking based on results of professional-public accreditation, Quality of Education Assessment, Ranking based on university efficiency monitoring data, Brand Analytics, and others.
This year, the ranking methodology changed. Due to the fact that data from the HeadHunter and "National Recognition" rankings have not been updated since 2024, they were excluded from the aggregation. They have been replaced by new sources:
- Graduate Employment Ranking (Rostrud methodology). Assesses the demand for full-time graduates two years after graduation based on data from Rosobrnadzor and the Social Fund of Russia. Key criteria: median salary and proportion of employed graduates.
- "Tabiturient" Applicant Interest Ranking (based on student reviews and analysis of student sentiment. Included since 2025).
- "Integrated Communication Efficiency Ranking" from the agency Brand Analytics (assesses the university's interaction with applicants, students, government, business, and media. Included since 2025).
The updated model provides a more accurate picture of how well education meets the real demands of the economy.
The main feature of the National Aggregated Ranking is that it includes almost all universities in Russia, allowing for assessment of the quality of education across the country as a whole, as well as by individual sectors, regions, and educational sectors.
Earlier, experts from the best-edu.ru portal presented a new 2026 study, "Universities of the Post-Soviet Space in Global Subject Rankings," analyzing the international competitiveness of universities based on subject rankings. According to the ranking results, MSUPE entered the 1st League in the subject areas "Psychological Sciences" and "Education Sciences."
