In 2026, Applicant Interest in Pedagogical Universities of the Russian Ministry of Education is Growing
In the first four days of the 2026 admissions campaign, pedagogical universities subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education received 33,581 applications for pedagogical programs. This figure is 3,375 applications higher than for the same period last year.
Traditionally, the majority of applicants choose bachelor's, specialist, and basic higher education programs: 28,528 applications were submitted for these, which also exceeds last year's figure.
As of June 24, the top five pedagogical universities by number of applications are: Herzen State Pedagogical University of Russia (5,221), Moscow Pedagogical State University (4,072), Ural State Pedagogical University (3,172), Novosibirsk State Pedagogical University (3,039), and Krasnoyarsk State Pedagogical University named after V.P. Astafiev (1,331).
In total, there are 37,516 places in the enlarged group of specialties and training areas 44.00.00 Education and Pedagogical Sciences in pedagogical universities subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education.
