On August 26, the Scientific and Practical Center for Gerontopsychology at MSUPE hosted the master class "AI Conquers All Ages."

The meeting brought together two areas that at first glance may seem unrelated – exploring the possibilities of artificial intelligence and cognitive stimulation. However, both formats involve active work with information, formulating questions, searching for solutions, discussing, and interacting with others.

At the beginning of the master class, the facilitator, Vladimir Yuryevich Kuznetsov, introduced participants to the practical possibilities of artificial intelligence. Concrete examples were used to show how neural network tools can be applied in everyday life: for working with texts, generating ideas, solving household tasks, and creative activities.

An important part of the session was not only familiarising participants with AI capabilities but also discussing its limitations. Participants analysed the responses received, noted inaccuracies, and learned to critically evaluate the results generated by neural networks.

"AI is a very helpful assistant, and there is no need to be afraid of using it. But we must not forget that it can make mistakes and even confidently provide incorrect information. Therefore, a good skill is not only being able to ask AI a question but also critically evaluating the answer, double-checking, and verifying important facts", noted the facilitator.

Thus, interaction with AI was considered not as passive receipt of ready-made answers but as a process requiring attention, task formulation, and information verification.

The final part of the meeting was dedicated to Cognitive Stimulation Therapy – an evidence-based approach aimed at supporting the cognitive and social functioning of older adults.

Centre staff offered participants group tasks for memory, attention, thinking, and speech. The emphasis was not on the complexity of individual exercises but on the collaborative completion of tasks, discussion, and interaction within the group.

The social component is one of the key differences between CST and individual cognitive training. An important outcome is not only the completion of the intellectual task but also the person's involvement in communication, the ability to exchange opinions, use their own life experience, and learn new ways of interacting.

Holding such meetings at the Gerontopsychology Center allows for the combination of modern technological tools and evidence-based approaches to cognitive support for older adults. This format creates a space where mastering something new simultaneously becomes an opportunity for intellectual activity, communication, and maintaining interest in the world around them.
