On February 12, the Moscow Planetarium hosted a fascinating lecture by Ivan Andreevich Rozanov, PhD in Medicine and Senior Lecturer at the Department of General Psychology at the Institute of Experimental Psychology, MSUPE. The topic of his presentation, "Psychology of Alien Settlements and Colonization", sparked great interest among the audience.

What Was Discussed?

I.A. Rozanov explored the psychological aspects of living and working in extreme conditions:

  • The shift-work method in remote settlements
  • Life in the Far North
  • Autonomous underwater missions on submarines

These studies will form the foundation for the future when humanity begins to settle on other planets. The lecturer emphasized that the achievements of space psychology can already be applied to life on Earth, and psychology students have the opportunity to actively participate in research in this field.

Space Psychology: What Lies Ahead?

The lecture covered:

  • Key achievements and discoveries in space psychology
  • Psychological phenomena related to isolation and extreme conditions
  • Psychological support methods that will aid in the conquest of the Solar System
Education and Space: Raising a Generation of Universe Explorers

I.A. Rozanov highlighted that the success of interplanetary travel depends not only on technology but also on human resource development. It is crucial to educate a new generation of engineers, scientists, doctors, psychologists, and inventors. This is a challenge for educators and psychologists, who can already inspire young people to study space.

Why Is This Important?

Space psychology is not just about the distant future. Its methods already help people cope with challenges in extreme conditions on Earth. For psychology students, this is a unique opportunity to contribute to science and become part of groundbreaking projects.
