
Forbes magazine has published its ranking of the best Russian universities for 2025. The long list includes 564 universities from different regions of Russia. The TOP-100 list features institutions where students receive quality education and graduates quickly find good jobs and build successful careers.
MSUPE ranked 97th in the ranking with a score of 20.63 points.
For applicants seeking higher education, the key question remains the quality of education at specific institutions. In its seventh annual ranking of Russia's best universities, Forbes evaluated institutions based on 17 criteria grouped into five metrics:
Networking Quality
Evaluated by the average Unified State Exam scores of applicants (70%) and the percentage of winners and prize-winners of national and international Olympiads among students (30%).
Employer Reputation
Based on a survey of 64 companies from Forbes' list of best Russian employers. Considers the university's overall reputation and the quality of graduate training across industries.
International Reputation
Determined by the university's presence in prestigious global rankings (ARWU, THE, QS). Includes both institutional and subject rankings.
Academic Environment
A comprehensive indicator including faculty salaries, qualifications, program internationalization, financial stability, and the student-to-faculty ratio.
Forbes Factor
Awarded for the number of alumni included in Forbes' 2025 Russian billionaires list: 0.5 points per alumnus, with a maximum score for 13 or more alumni.
MSUPE received 6.67 points from Forbes for academic environment and 13.96 points for networking quality.
To compile the ranking, Forbes used data from the Russian Ministry of Education and Science's monitoring of higher education institutions, surveys of the country's largest employers, and information from open sources.
