On October 30-31, the VII All-Russian Scientific and Practical Conference with International Participation "Hospital Pedagogy. Best Practices in Teaching Children Undergoing Long-Term Treatment in Medical Institutions and at Home" was held. The conference was attended by representatives of the Department of Special Psychology and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of "Clinical and Special Psychology" of MSUPE, headed by the Department Head, Yu.E. Kurtanova.
Yulia Evgenyevna presented a report titled "Psychological, Pedagogical, and Social Reintegration of Children with Oncological Diseases After Long-Term Treatment." The report outlined the results of the department's work on developing and implementing a comprehensive psychological rehabilitation program aimed at enhancing the successful reintegration into society of primary school-age children with oncological diseases after prolonged treatment.
"To implement the psychological rehabilitation program for children with oncological diseases in the work of educational psychologists in hospital schools, it is necessary to train specialists. MSUPE has created a professional development program 'Psychological, Pedagogical, and Psychosocial Rehabilitation of Children with Chronic Somatic Diseases.' Seventy-one hospital teachers from 13 regions of the Russian Federation have completed this program. We are ready to continue disseminating knowledge and teaching practical technologies to teachers and psychologists aimed at improving the social adaptation of children after long-term treatment," said Yulia Evgenyevna, summarizing the results of the work on the scientific project.
Postgraduate and master's students from the program "Psychological and Pedagogical Support for Children with Chronic Somatic Diseases", implemented at the Department of Special Psychology and Rehabilitation of the Faculty of "Clinical and Special Psychology," also actively participated in the conference as speakers and workshop leaders. The conference's rich and productive program provided students with invaluable experience in conference participation and allowed them to familiarize themselves with the best practices of pedagogical work in hospital schools.
