On November 10, the Festival of National Cultures was held at Moscow State University of Psychology and Education (MSUPE). MSUPE students presented the national cultures of various peoples of Russia and foreign countries – the Republic of Sakha (Yakutia), Altai, Kalmykia, Karelia, South Sudan, Afghanistan, and Ethiopia. The festival was organized by the Department of Educational and Social Work of MSUPE.
As guests of the Festival, the students enthusiastically participated in traditional outdoor games that were new to many of them. For the event, the university librarians curated a book exhibition titled "Traditions of the Peoples of Russia: Books from the MSUPE Library Collection."
A notable exhibit was an antique book from 1887, published during the author's lifetime: "Children's Games. Predominantly Russian. In Connection with History, Ethnography, Pedagogy, and Hygiene" by E.A. Pokrovsky. The author was a 19th-century pediatrician, Doctor of Medicine, and psychologist. The book explores the benefits of folk games for personal development.
Furthermore, MSUPE librarian Evgenia Rodina, who is also a member of the folk-ethnographic ensemble "KorAb," performed a Russian traditional spiritual verse about the benefits of reading and spoke about the project "Odnodvortsy: 7 Russian Stories" (implemented with the support of the Presidential Grants Foundation and the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Society of Future Researchers").
