On May 7, an award ceremony for the winners and prize-winners of the International Essay Competition and the All-Russian Competition of Research Projects "Without Statute of Limitations" was held at the Museum of Victory. The event was attended by the Minister of Education of the Russian Federation, Sergey Kravtsov. The best works were presented by 92 school students and college students.

"I congratulate you on the upcoming Great Victory Day! Every year, more and more school students participate in all events of the 'Without Statute of Limitations' project. Over the years of its implementation, it has united more than 7 million schoolchildren. In 2026, over 500,000 applications were submitted for the essay competition. It is important that every year, students from friendly countries join the essay competition. The key task today is to preserve historical memory among the younger generation, so that students study authentic documents and form a reasoned understanding of the horrors of Nazism", said Sergey Kravtsov.

The head of the Ministry also quoted essays from the best participants and awarded three students with diplomas and memorable gifts, and their mentors with letters of gratitude.

The absolute winners of the International Essay Competition received awards from the Minister's hands: Veronika Smirnova, a student at School No. 509 in the Krasnoselsky District of St. Petersburg, and her mentor Vasilisa Barabanova; also Sofia Dimakova and mentor Maria Kostina from Multidisciplinary Lyceum No. 1 in the city of Donetsk; and Matvey Kuznetsov and his teacher Larisa Ivankova from Lyceum No. 1 named after Hero of the Soviet Union Dmitry Sergeevich Ezersky in the city of Zhukovka, Bryansk Region.

Zhanna Alekseeva, State Secretary – Deputy Minister of Culture of the Russian Federation, noted that collaborative work contributes to strengthening traditional spiritual and moral values, protecting historical memory, and countering the falsification of world history.

"It is very important to preserve the memory of the tragedy of the Great Patriotic War and the courage of the Soviet people, to pass on this knowledge to future generations, to our youth. A special role in this noble work is played by the mentor educator, who shares not only knowledge but also helps form moral guidelines. And today we proudly see that Russia is raising a worthy generation capable of preserving the values for which our heroes fought. This is confirmed by the numerous participants in the competition and their outstanding research works", emphasized Zhanna Alekseeva.

In 2026, more than 500,000 schoolchildren and students from all regions of Russia, as well as students from educational institutions of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and foreign countries, participated in the project's competitive events. Representatives from nine countries submitted over one thousand essays.
