Sokolyansky–Meshcheryakov Scientific School: Professor T.A. Basilova of MSUPE Speaks at a Round Table of Defectologists at the RAE
On May 28, a round table "Scientific Schools in Defectology of the Past and Present" was held at the Russian Academy of Education (RAE) , organized by the Russian Academy of Education and the Institute of Correctional Pedagogy.
Tatyana Alexandrovna Basilova, Professor at the Department of Special Psychology and Rehabilitation, Faculty of Clinical and Special Psychology, MSUPE, delivered the main presentation: "The Sokolyansky–Meshcheryakov Scientific School in Special Pedagogy and Psychology of the Past and Present."
The report reflected the fundamental contribution to defectology by I.A. Sokolyansky and A.I. Meshcheryakov as founders of the Russian system of education for the deaf-blind. Tatyana Alexandrovna also spoke about the successors of this school and their scientific achievements.
