Monograph by Professor L.S. Kuravsky on the Application of Quantum Representations in Diagnostics Published in Its Second Edition
The second edition of the monograph by the Dean of the Faculty of Information Technologies at MSUPE, Doctor of Technical Sciences, Professor L.S. Kuravsky, "Quantum Representations and Their Applications" , has been published. The book examines a new approach to solving diagnostic problems, which involves the convolution of applied Markov processes representing the diagnostic procedure into quantum representations, allowing the structure of these processes to be identified using quantum spectral analysis. The activity of operators is represented through matrices of transition probabilities between performed elementary operations. The application of quantum filtering allows obtaining quantitative diagnostic assessments. Numerous examples of practical application are provided, in particular in solving problems arising in civil aviation. The proposed approach is effective in conditions of a deficit of empirical data, which is important for practical use. Its significant advantages compared to the developments of foreign researchers relying on a conceptually similar mathematical apparatus are shown. The book is intended for specialists in the field of applied mathematics and related scientific fields engaged in solving diagnostic problems.
Compared to the first edition, the book has been supplemented with two new sections that examine simulation modelling of activity based on quantum representations and the results of computer experiments revealing the key features of the quantum likelihood method.
