On August 19, a round table titled "The Psychological Well-Being of Society as a Task of State Policy. The Potential of Psychology and Its Assessment in the Lens of the 2025 Ranking" was held at the Interfax news agency. Rector of MSUPE Arkady Aronovich Margolis and Vice-Rector for Professional Education of MSUPE Alexandra Andreevna Lisitsyna took part in the event.
The meeting presented the results of the 2025 ranking study of higher education programs in the field of "Psychology," conducted by the Interfax analytical group.
MSUPE has been included in the top ten Russian universities in the field of "Psychology" for the third consecutive year; in 2025, the university ranked eighth in the rating.
The main topics of discussion at the round table also included:
- The role of psychological well-being in implementing the development strategy of Russian society;
- Psychology as a science and practical activity in the context of state policy tasks and the country's technological leadership;
- The quality, accessibility, and demand for psychological education within the Russian higher education system.
In his address, Rector of MSUPE Arkady Aronovich Margolis emphasized the importance and practical significance of ranking studies and their direct impact on the strategic development of the university:
"Rating indicators serve not only as a tool for positioning the university in the external environment but also as an effective mechanism for internal diagnostics to plan activities and make management decisions," noted the Rector.
Arkady Aronovich also pointed out the challenges facing the modern system of training psychologists. In particular, he spoke about the lack of comprehensive solutions for integrating young specialists into professional activities—the absence of a unified methodology for post-graduate support for alumni, as well as an underdeveloped institution of mentorship at the career start stage.
The Rector of MSUPE paid special attention to the issue of assessing graduates' readiness for independent professional activity. Earlier, in accordance with an initiative of the Russian Ministry of Education, specialized centers equipped with modern high-tech equipment for conducting Demonstration Exams were established in all subordinate universities. This allowed for a transition to a qualitatively new assessment system, as close as possible to real professional conditions, and became one of the most effective tools for verifying acquired competencies, as well as a significant lever for improving the quality of educational programs.
More details on the results of the 2025 ranking study of higher education programs in the field of "Psychology" will be available in September.
The ranking study assessed psychology programs from 157 universities across the country. The rating was compiled based on an evaluation of data from questionnaires for the 2025 National University Ranking, university websites, the Russian Science Citation Index (RSCI) national scientometric system, the website of the All-Russian Student Olympiad "I am a Professional," data on professional-public accreditation of educational programs in the field of "Psychology," data from the Scan-IF and Brand Analytics information systems, as well as the results of surveys of administrative staff, faculty, students, and university graduates.
