The new issue of the journal "Counseling Psychology and Psychotherapy" (No. 2/2025) is an issue dedicated to the adaptation and validation of various diagnostic methodologies.

The corresponding section on the special topic of the issue, "Testing and Validation of Methodologies," includes 7 articles. Three of them are related to the theme of childhood and adolescence and contain materials on the validation of methodologies for assessing adverse childhood experiences (ACE-10), maternal ambivalence (the MAS scale), and adolescent time attitude (the ATAS scale).

In this issue, the reader will also find scales aimed at measuring anger reactions (DAR-R) and the intensity of rumination ("Rumination Response Scale").

The topic of another article is related to the ability to cope with stress. The authors validated the "Meaning-Focused Coping" methodology, in which the latter is considered as one of the strategies for coping with stress. The research material was accumulated in several stages, starting with the collection of data on stress and coping with it during the Covid-19 pandemic.

Finally, the last article in the "Testing and Validation of Methodologies" section fills an important gap in the toolkit of counseling psychologists and psychotherapists. Its authors present to Russian specialists a Russian-language version of the shortened form of the "Working Alliance Inventory WAI-S".

In addition to the section dedicated to the special topic, the issue contains three more sections: "Theory and Methodology," "Theoretical Reviews," and "Events, Dates."

The first theoretical article is dedicated to an attempt to comprehend the crisis in modern cognitive-behavioral psychotherapy and is clearly polemical in nature. The second theoretical article represents an analysis of existing data on the possible negative consequences of psychotherapy. The introduction to the article rightly notes a deficit of such research in domestic scientific literature.

The issue concludes with an article by representatives of the school of comprehensive psychotherapy, which aims to reflect on its current state and prospects for further development based on an analysis of past conferences and the presentations made there.

The editorial board hopes that the materials presented in the issue will be useful and in demand by our readers.
