Today, Russia celebrates Social Educator Day – a professional holiday that appeared in 2009. A social educator connects different worlds: school and family, childhood and society, those who find themselves in a difficult situation and those who are ready to help. The profession of a social educator is characterized by polyfunctionality and combines mediation between different age groups, providing psychological and pedagogical support and protection.
According to the Ministry of Education of the Russian Federation, as of 2024, there are more than 340 thousand orphans and children left without parental care in the country. For many of them, it is the social educator who becomes the person who opens the way to support and a new point of stability.
