From November 7-10, the 13th International Film Festival on the lives of people with disabilities, "Cinema without Barriers", took place. The festival was organized by the ROOI "Perspektiva" with the support of the Ministry of Culture of the Russian Federation.

The festival aims to change stereotypical perceptions of disability and showcase the diversity of human experience through cinema.

The film festival was first held in 2002, when the topic of inclusion in Russia was not yet widely developed. Over its more than twenty-year history, the number and quality of submissions have increased.

In 2025, the festival's directorate received over 950 submissions from 70 countries, including Russia, the USA, France, Italy, Brazil, Spain, Turkey, Iran, the United Kingdom, Mexico, and others.

Dasha Shibanova, a first-year student of the "Information Technologies" faculty at MSUPE—our student ambassador!—took part in the festival.

"Barriers exist only in our minds. At the festival, complete inclusion prevailed, where everyone felt part of a big and important conversation about life. I am grateful for the opportunity to be a volunteer at such a significant event," Dasha shared her impressions.

"Cinema without Barriers" is a unique festival in our country, featuring films that not only talk about the lives of people with disabilities but also vividly demonstrate their potential and the diversity of their interests.
