On December 11, Russian Minister of Education Sergey Kravtsov addressed participants of the All-Russian Seminar for Press Secretaries of the Education System. He spoke about the results of efforts to strengthen the unified educational space and the importance of informational support for this work. The event is organized by the Russian Ministry of Education, the Center for Educational Initiatives, and the "Mashuk" Center of Knowledge.
In his welcoming speech, Sergey Kravtsov noted that the modern education system has inherited the best methods and tools developed during the Soviet years. A significant contribution to strengthening the country's education sector was made by Mikhail Prokofiev, who served as Minister of Education of the USSR from 1966 to 1984.
"There are no quick victories in education. A school can be built in two or three years, but to see real fruits – changes in the quality of knowledge, in the upbringing system, in the worldview of generations – time, patience, and systematic work are needed. That is precisely why, following the instruction of the President of Russia, we are forming a unified educational space: introducing unified curricula and textbooks, building an effective upbringing system. And this is already yielding results: we see growing interest and achievements among students, especially in science disciplines. Lesson planning has been introduced, and school advisors on upbringing are now working in schools. By creating such an integrated system, we gain a key advantage: it is now much easier to identify and address emerging issues – precisely and effectively, often before they escalate into problems. The system allows us to consistently improve the quality of education on a nationwide scale", emphasized Sergey Kravtsov.
The head of the Russian Ministry of Education highlighted that the outgoing year has been successful for the Russian education system. Since September 1, 2025, a key document has been in effect – Order No. 704 of the Russian Ministry of Education. It clearly formulates the criteria for the content and quality of education, as well as the academic load for students from grades 1 through 11.
In conclusion, Sergey Kravtsov thanked the press secretaries for building strong and trustworthy relationships with regional media, opinion leaders, and the expert community, as well as for shaping a correct understanding of the education system and its components.
At the plenary session "Digital Transformation of Education and Communication Strategies for Regional Development," participants learned about the strategic priorities of communication policy.
Irina Shilkina, Director of the Department of External Communications and Reference at the Russian Ministry of Education, spoke about structuring collaboration with press services of regional education ministries and organizations subordinate to the Russian Ministry of Education.
Sofia Malyavina, General Director of the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "National Priorities," reported on the development of national projects through the digitalization of the education system and communications. She noted successes in implementing the national project "Youth and Children," which creates opportunities for young people, renews infrastructure, and develops secondary vocational education.
Anastasia Zvyagina, Deputy General Director of the National Center "Russia," delivered a report titled "Federal Information Policy: Promotion of Digital Projects and Interaction of Government Bodies with Society."
"What seemed technically complex just a few years ago has now become part of our daily lives. Every major project – cultural, educational, governmental – now inevitably receives a digital extension. We see a simple but important process: first, an event emerges, and then it continues to live in the digital realm – becoming accessible to the entire country", said Anastasia Zvyagina.
The Deputy General Director of the National Center provided several examples of such work. For instance, she stated that the "Russia" Exhibition became the largest project, attracting 18.5 million visitors over eight months. The exposition has transformed into a full-fledged digital ecosystem.
Maria Kudryavtseva, Lead Anchor of the Economic News Service on the "Russia 24" TV channel, author and host of the programs "There is a Solution" and "Instruction," also addressed the participants, sharing effective communication practices in education.
Other participants at the meeting included writer Alexander Tsypkin, representatives from VK, the Autonomous Non-Profit Organization "Dialog Regiony," Artemy Lebedev's Studio, the company "Medialogia," the People's Front (ONF), "Yandex Zen," and others. Those gathered discussed modern challenges, communication tools, handling information threats, and media interaction in the field of education.
