On January 26, the Faculty of Distance Learning at MSUPE successfully held another session within the "Mutually Enriching Dialogues" project. The practical session on the theme "The Hero's Journey" was dedicated to a powerful tool in the modern psychologist's arsenal – transformational games – and was conducted in an interactive, practice-oriented format.

The meeting, which quickly filled its online capacity, became a space for deep dialogue between theory and practice. Under the guidance of an experienced expert, participants not only discussed but also personally experienced the potential of this method.

Key Meeting Content:

  • Professional Perspective: Transformational games were examined as a serious tool in the work of a counseling psychologist. Questions of professional ethics, competencies required for facilitating games, and their place in practical work were discussed.
  • Scope of Application: Participants analyzed which client requests and in which contexts the use of T-games is most effective, noting their ability to gently and quickly identify and work through internal issues.
  • Practical Immersion: The central part of the meeting was a mini-session of the transformational game "The Hero's Journey" (author – Ekaterina Knyazeva). This format allowed everyone to take a step closer to understanding their own "challenges" and "resources" through a metaphorical game process.

The session was led by Alexandra Vladimirovna Fokina, Candidate of Psychological Sciences, practicing psychologist, member of the Federation of Educational Psychologists of Russia and the National Association of Psychologists. Her expertise and engaging, lively facilitation style made the meeting highly productive and substantive.

Participants gained a clear understanding of the mechanisms of transformational games, practical experience in immersing themselves in the method, and answers to questions about its professional use. The session demonstrated that serious psychological work can be profound, effective, and engaging at the same time.

The Faculty of Distance Learning at MSUPE thanks Alexandra Vladimirovna Fokina and all participants for creating an atmosphere of open dialogue and practical exploration!
