At the All-Russian Forum "Teacher – The Future of Russia!" the Head of the Ministry of Education Announces the Opening of the Year of Preschool Education

The V All-Russian Pedagogical Educational Forum "Teacher – The Future of Russia!" is taking place at Moscow Pedagogical State University (MPGU) . The event is held with the support of the Russian Ministry of Education.

During the forum, on February 26, at the ceremonial opening of the thematic year, the head of the Russian Ministry of Education, Sergey Kravtsov, officially declared 2026 as the Year of Preschool Education within the education system:

"Today we are holding the V forum 'Teacher – The Future of Russia!' and launching the Year of Preschool Education, which the ministry has defined as a priority this year. Upbringing in kindergartens, organizing the system of preparing preschoolers – this is an important stage in the life of every child. It is the formation of personality, the development of all basic psychological functions that will greatly influence the school period and beyond."

The President of the Russian Academy of Education, Olga Vasilyeva, in her speech at the forum's opening, noted the immense scientific contribution to preschool pedagogy made by A.V. Zaporozhets, a renowned Soviet psychologist.

Also, in the presence of honored guests and forum participants from all regions of the country, the laureates of the National Public-Professional Prize "Recognition-2025" were awarded. Among them are educators, teachers, and mentors who have made a significant contribution to the development of national education, strengthening traditional Russian spiritual and moral values, preserving historical memory, and fostering civic-patriotic education in children and youth.

It is planned that during the Year of Preschool Education, various events will be held across the country aimed at improving the conditions for children in kindergartens. Special attention will be paid to research activities, improving regulatory frameworks, organizational and methodological support, and developing human resources. This thematic year will continue the phased implementation of the Program for Educating Parents of Preschoolers in Russian regions.
