Future Time Orientation and Coping Intelligence in the New Issue of the Journal "Experimental Psychology"
A new issue of the journal "Experimental Psychology" (No. 1, 2026) has been published.
The issue opens with the section "Psychology of Perception," featuring two new articles. The work by Barabanshchikov V.A., Suvorova E.V., Borisova A.S. presents a comparative analysis of the perception of bimodal (face + voice) emotional expressions under conditions of fully and partially uncovered faces. Khoze E.G., Rasskazova M.P., Zhegallo A.V., Zherdev I.Yu. investigate the nature of perception of dynamic natural expressions demonstrated by participants in dyadic interaction during structured interviews.
Next follows the traditional section "Psychophysiology," presented here with one new article. The study by Sobolev V.I., Trush V.V., Popov M.N. aims to investigate, in a psychophysiological experiment, the nature of the dependence of the latent period of tactile-motor reaction on the intensity and duration of a tactile stimulus.
The following section, "Cognitive Psychology," has been expanded with three new materials. The study by Kokha D.A., Lyusin D.V. examines the influence of a feature in visual working memory on rapid visual categorization of a set of objects. The work by Kurbanov K.A., Spiridonov V.F. aims to identify the features of naive and scientific mental models when assessing the truth of evolutionary statements. Lebedeva S.O., Morozova I.S. investigate the specifics of post-stroke cognitive processes under the subjective feeling of having disorders of varying intensity.
The "Personality Psychology" section in this issue is represented by one article. The work by Dimidov V.O. aims to study the role of the instrumentality of current tasks in the motivational regulation of activities related to academic and personal goals.
The "Social Psychology" section also contains one new article. The work by Mironova O.I., Rogova O.S. is devoted to studying the features of perception and assessment by specialists of the difficulties of interaction with codependents and coping resources.
Next follows the "Psycholinguistics" section, expanded with two new materials. Almaev N.A., Salnikov T.D. attempted to develop an adequate system for assessing text complexity and proposed a pilot experiment scheme that takes into account the factor of interest in the text. The article by Emelyanova T.P., Bochkarev V.V., Tarasov S.V. assesses the dynamics of affectivity in newspaper texts in the 1990s, identifies its connection with key socio-political events, and conducts a comprehensive comparison with data on the emotional state of society.
The following section, "Work Psychology and Engineering Psychology," also contains two materials in this issue. The work by Kuravsky L.S., Greshnikov I.I., Levonovich N.I., Yuryeva N.E., Glukhova E.D., Makhortov I.A., Kislitsyn E.D., Sokolov A.V., Zakharycheva A.A. aims to develop and test a method for quantitative assessment of the components of a pilot's integral cognitive load, allowing not only to detect the fact of overload but also to determine the contribution of various modalities of professional activity to its occurrence. In the article by Tuil A. , the effect of simulation-based training on the development of safe driving skills in novice drivers according to the GDE (Goals for Driver Education) model is studied.
The issue concludes with our traditional section "Psychodiagnostics," featuring two new materials. The article by Kuvaeva I.O., Volkova E.V., Varlamov A.V., Volkova N.E. presents a psychometric verification of behaviorally anchored rating scales of coping intelligence (BARS of CI) in terms of reliability, construct, convergent, and discriminant validity. In the article by Gagarina M.A., Fomina T.G., Solovova N.A., Koszioni V. , a Russian-language version of the V. Koszioni Future Time Orientation Scale is adapted, allowing assessment of the degree of predisposition for the psychological future to determine functioning in the present.
