On May 21, the Dean of the Faculty of Social Communication at MSUPE, Doctor of Historical Sciences, Professor Irina Borisovna Shilina, and the Head of the Department of Social Communication and Organization of Work with Youth, Tatyana Alexandrovna Mikhailova, participated in the First International Scientific-Practical Conference "Children's Public Organization as a Unique Educational Space."

The conference was dedicated to the contribution of Alexey Vasilyevich Volokhov – Doctor of Pedagogical Sciences, Professor, Chairman of the International Union of Children's Public Associations "Union of Pioneer Organizations – Federation of Children's Organizations" (2012–2025) – to the development and scientific-pedagogical support of the activities of children's public organizations.

The organizers were the Association of the Children's Movement of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Arzamas Humanitarian and Pedagogical Institute named after A.P. Gaidar (a branch of Lobachevsky State University of Nizhny Novgorod) , with the support of the regional branch of the "Movement of the First" of the Nizhny Novgorod Region and the Scientific and Practical Center of SPO-FDO.

The event brought together participants from 15 regions of Russia and the Republic of Kazakhstan – representatives of the scientific community, educators, specialists in education and youth policy, and heads of children's public associations.

The participants focused on issues related to the educational potential of children's public organizations, the socialization and self-realization of children, and the formation of civic and spiritual-moral values.

Irina Borisovna Shilina delivered a report on the topic "The Educational Potential of the Youth Movement," which sparked lively interest among the professional audience.

The participation of MSUPE representatives in the conference confirms the university's high level of expertise in the field of social communication, youth policy, and educational work, while also strengthening scientific and practical ties with leading organizations and specialists in the country.
