The Scientific and Practical Center for Gerontopsychology and the Faculty of Professional Development at MSUPE invite individuals interested in providing psychological assistance to older adults as part of their professional activities to enroll in the training program "Cognitive Stimulation Therapy: Basic Principles and Practical Application in Gerontology and Geriatrics" (16 hours, online). The 10th anniversary cohort of the training starts on July 10, 2026.

Cognitive Stimulation Therapy (CST) is an evidence-based program aimed at maintaining cognitive function in cognitive decline, mild, and moderate dementia. Since the program's launch in early 2025, nine cohorts have already been completed. The sustained interest from the professional community confirms its practical significance and alignment with the current needs of gerontological practice.

The training will be conducted in an online course format. Upon completion of the program, participants will receive:

· Theoretical knowledge: systematized understanding of gerontology as a science of aging, including psychological aspects of physiological changes in old age; knowledge of late-life mental illnesses and possibilities for correcting cognitive impairment in older adults; understanding of the theoretical foundations of CST.

· Methodological recommendations for conducting thematic CST sessions.

· A state-issued certificate of professional development.

· A methodological guide "Making Changes: Cognitive Stimulation Therapy. An Evidence-Based Group Program for Patients with Dementia" (PDF, 60 pages).

For program graduates, the CST Supervisory Club operates – a platform for professional support and discussion of complex cases in the application of the method. Participants also have the opportunity to complete an internship in the CST method and apply their knowledge directly in working with older adults.
