130th Anniversary of L.S. Vygotsky: Anniversary Programme at the Slow Reading Club "Up to the Highest Heights"
Dear readers, we invite you to join the meetings of the MSUPE Slow Reading Club "Up to the Highest Heights", dedicated to the 130th anniversary of L.S. Vygotsky.
At the upcoming meetings, we will read aloud together and discuss the book "L.S. Vygotsky. Life. Work. Sketches for a Portrait." The authors of the book are:
- Gita Lvovna Vygodskaya – Candidate of Psychological Sciences, psychologist and defectologist, researcher at the Institute of Defectology, daughter of the outstanding psychologist Lev Semyonovich Vygotsky. She devoted her life to preserving, studying, and publishing her father's scientific legacy.
- Tamara Mikhailovna Lifanova – a well-known Russian defectologist, educator, and researcher, biographer and bibliographer of L.S. Vygotsky's work.
Their 1996 monograph is considered one of the most complete and authoritative works on the life, development, and scientific activity of L.S. Vygotsky. The book is based on unique archival materials, family documents, and memoirs, making it a key source for understanding the biography of the "Mozart of Psychology".

- 29.09.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – Childhood, student years, the beginning of L.S. Vygotsky's scientific activity.
- 06.10.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – From Gomel to Moscow.
- 13.10.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – The Moscow period of L.S. Vygotsky.
- 20.10.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – Scientific work in the field of defectology, the study of thinking and speech.
- 10.11.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – L.S. Vygotsky through the eyes of those around him.
- 01.12.2026 / 4:20–6:00 PM – L.S. Vygotsky through the eyes of his daughter.
In person: Reading Room of the MSUPE Library at 29 Sretenka St.
For in-person attendance, please bring your passport (if you are not from MSUPE) or your university pass.
Online: A link will be sent to the email address provided during registration.
It is not necessary to read the book in advance or bring it with you; we will provide the reading material at the meeting.
