The third issue of the Journal of Modern Foreign Psychology is dedicated to the issue of loneliness. The articles featured in this issue explore various aspects of this problem through the lenses of different psychological disciplines: legal psychology and security psychology, social psychology, trade and engineering psychology, developmental and age-related psychology.

Analytical reviews of both foreign and national research highlight the contradictory nature of the available facts and conclusions, the acute nature of the loneliness problem in the modern, rapidly digitizing world, and the potential of psychology to assist men and women of different ages in addressing challenges associated with the experience of loneliness.

The publications also examine factors contributing to the rise in loneliness, such as socially prescribed perfectionism, and protective factors, such as self-compassion. Particular attention is paid to the phenomenon of professional loneliness associated with the implementation of artificial intelligence and the replacement of face-to-face communication.
