MSUPE Joins the Association "University Consortium of Big Data Researchers"
MSUPE has joined the association "University Consortium of Big Data Researchers" (Big Data Consortium). The corresponding agreement was signed by the parties on October 5 during the international forum "Open Data" in the Altai Mountains.
The University Consortium of Big Data Researchers unites scientific and educational organizations and IT companies around artificial intelligence and big data analysis technologies. The Consortium includes about 90 universities from Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Armenia. It is the largest specialized association of universities and IT leaders in the CIS.
MSUPE trains psychologists of all specialties, educators, and youth work specialists. MSUPE has scientific and practical centers of the Russian Ministry of Education in key areas of educational policy. MSUPE is a participant in the Priority 2030 project.
As noted by MSUPE Vice-Rector for Scientific Work Sergey Kosaretsky, the university implements projects on collecting and analyzing large volumes of data for the algorithmization, reproducibility, and evidence-based nature of psychological assistance.
"The experience of the Big Data Consortium and the modern formats of cooperation between participants it offers can help MSUPE achieve ambitious goals — technological leadership in the digital transformation of psychologists' activities. In addition, our university is one of the leaders of modern Russian cognitive neuroscience and uses the only MEG (magnetoencephalography) recording system in the Russian Federation for neurophysiological and psychophysiological research. We see ourselves as an active participant in the emerging network of independent neuro-laboratories within the University Consortium of Big Data Researchers. It is symbolic that we are becoming a member of the Consortium during the days of the University's 30th anniversary", commented Sergey Kosaretsky.
According to the Consortium's General Director Vyacheslav Goyko, neurodata is becoming the next step in the development of big data: it provides additional information — about cognitive load, engagement, and so on.
"The Consortium, together with the company 'Neurotrend,' is developing a network of university neuro-laboratories: we are creating a space where universities exchange experience and initiate joint applied, scientific, and commercial projects at the intersection of neuro-, AI, and data analytics. MSUPE's accession will strengthen this direction and help develop psychological research in the format of technological solutions".
The VIII International Forum on Artificial Intelligence "Open Data" is being held on October 5–6 in the Altai Mountains. It is attended by representatives of more than 80 universities, over 30 companies, and various associations: they represent almost all regions of Russia, as well as CIS and BRICS countries.
The forum has been held since 2019 on the initiative of the Big Data Consortium and Tomsk State University (TSU). This year, the forum is organized with the participation of Altai State University (AltSU) and Gorno-Altaysk State University (GASU).
