Starting October 20, in partnership with the "Pochyot" Charitable Foundation, a program of cognitive stimulation therapy (CST) for retired employees of Russian Railways (RZD) will be launched. The program is conducted by specialists of the Scientific and Practical Center for Gerontopsychology at MSUPE on the basis of the center for social initiatives of railway workers "Station of Good".

The sessions are aimed at maintaining cognitive activity, memory, attention, thinking, and social involvement of older adults, as well as creating a comfortable environment for communication and exchange of experience.

On October 7, ahead of the launch, MSUPE staff visited the "Comfort Zone" festival organized by the "Pochyot" Charitable Foundation. At the venue, specialists met potential participants of the CST program, spoke about the format and topics of the sessions, and answered guests' questions.

Additionally, on October 14, a master class "The Brain Loves New Things" was held at the Station of Good of the Moscow Railway. Specialists demonstrated elements of the program, discussed participants' interests and needs, and agreed on a plan for upcoming meetings.

  • "It was interesting to try the format on myself and understand that the sessions are not about complex tasks, but about communication and vivid memories", shared one of the participants.
  • "We saw genuine interest: people are ready to share experience, listen to each other, and communicate", noted the organizers.

The master class allowed future participants to become acquainted with the basic principles of cognitive stimulation.
