From October 20 to 23, the International Scientific Conference "Ananyev Readings – 2026. 60 Years of the Faculty of Psychology at St. Petersburg State University: Preserving Heritage, Creating the Future" was held at St. Petersburg State University.

The strategic session "Frontiers of Psychology: From Scientific Schools to the Future of Humanity" was led by Alla Borisovna Kholmogorova, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Dean of the Faculty of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at MSUPE and Head of the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy, and Olga Yuryevna Shchelkova, Doctor of Psychological Sciences, Professor, Head of the Department of Medical Psychology and Psychophysiology at St. Petersburg State University. Among the invited experts were Anastasia Alekseevna Rakhmanina, Senior Lecturer at the Faculty of Counseling and Clinical Psychology, and experts from the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine and other centers. Participants discussed the role of the psychologist in an interdisciplinary team both in practical work and in the scientific development of modern medicine. The session addressed current tasks and development vectors for psychological services in hospitals.

Much attention at the conference was paid to the practical aspects of providing assistance. On the second day of the conference, the section "Psychotherapy and Psychological Counseling: History and Prospects" was held. Viktor Kirillovich Zaretsky and Alla Borisovna Kholmogorova presented a joint report "From the Paradigm of Influence to the Paradigm of Cooperation in Psychological Counseling and Psychotherapy." Anna Alexandrovna Gerasimova, postgraduate student at the Department of Clinical Psychology and Psychotherapy and psychologist at the E.I. Chazov National Medical Research Center for Cardiology, spoke about the tasks of cardiac rehabilitation for young men after a primary myocardial infarction based on the results of a two-year observation.

The section "Clinical Psychology: Continuity of Traditions and a Look into the Future" was also productive. The large number of topics raised and discussions initiated allowed for a comprehensive discussion of both classical issues of clinical psychology and new challenges associated with working in modern medical institutions. Within the section, special attention was paid to practice-oriented reports concerning the activity of a psychologist in a somatic clinic, which generated a lively response from the audience and outlined prospects for further interdisciplinary research at the intersection of psychology and medicine. Anastasia Alekseevna Rakhmanova together with Lesya Bogdanovna Zavaliy, Candidate of Medical Sciences, presented a report "Prospects for the Development of Psychological Assistance to Patients with Appearance Changes Due to Illness (Using the Example of Facial Nerve Damage)."

Within the section "Modern Psychodiagnostics: Problems and Prospects," under the guidance of a well-known specialist in the field of mathematical methods in psychology, Head of the Department of Pedagogy and Pedagogical Psychology at the Faculty of Psychology of St. Petersburg State University, Candidate of Psychological Sciences A.D. Nasledov, a report was presented by Professor of the Department of Individual and Group Psychotherapy Dmitry Georgievich Sorokov and graduate of the department Polina Nikolaevna Fisenko. Their report "Assessment of the Validity and Reliability of D.G. Sorokov's BI-2 Method 'Anxiety-Avoidance in a Couple'" became the subject of a comprehensive and substantive discussion by colleagues from St. Petersburg, Moscow, Yekaterinburg, Tomsk, and Novosibirsk. The good and acceptable indicators of construct validity and internal consistency of the "BI-2" method presented at the previous "Ananyev Readings – 2025" were now supplemented by the speakers with results convincingly confirming its convergent and discriminant validity, test-retest reliability, and discriminativeness of indicators. Colleague testologists noted the high degree of readiness of the original Russian method for use in psychodiagnostic and counseling practice and expressed active interest in publishing its full description in a scientific journal.

On the third day of the conference, at the section "Suicidal Behavior in the Modern Digital Society: Risk Factors and Protective Factors," many reports were dedicated to the prevention of suicidal risk among young people. Lecturers of the faculty Olga Dmitrievna Pugovkina, Alla Borisovna Kholmogorova, and Evgenia Vladimirovna Borisonik, together with Mikhail Mikhailovich Potskhveria, Head of the Department of Acute Poisonings and Psychosomatic Disorders at the N.V. Sklifosovsky Research Institute for Emergency Medicine, emphasized the importance of helping older adults and delivered a report on the topic "Loneliness as a Risk Factor for Suicidal Behavior in the Digital Age and Tasks of Primary and Secondary Prevention." Evgenia Vladimirovna Borisonik gave a report on the tasks of psychological counseling for relatives of persons who have attempted suicide.

The conference brought together psychologists from all corners of Russia. Lecturers of the Faculty of Counseling and Clinical Psychology at MSUPE joined the campaign and marked the capital on the participants' map.
