
All full-time students enrolled in universities located in Moscow have the opportunity to apply for a Moscow Student Card.
The main advantage of the Muscovite Student Card is discounted public transportation fares, including the metro, buses, and commuter trains. Additionally, the card serves as a fully functional bank card with free service, offers discounts at many stores and businesses in Moscow and the Moscow region, and allows for quick and convenient doctor appointments via self-service kiosks in clinics.
Before applying for the Muscovite Student Card, check whether your name is listed in the Student and Postgraduate Registry via the provided link. If you do not find yourself in the registry, please contact your faculty.
- Step 1. Submit an application at any "My Documents" center. You will need one of the following documents: a passport of a foreign citizen or another document recognized as a proof of identity in accordance with international agreements. You may bring your own photo (3x4 cm), or you can be photographed for free at the "My Documents" center.
- Step 2. The Muscovite Student Card will be ready within 30 days after submitting your documents.
- Step 3. Pick up your card at the same "My Documents" center where you applied. You will need to bring the detachable coupon from your application for the card and your passport or another identity document The Moscow Student Card Must Be Reissued in the Following Situations:
- If your place of study or program changes (e.g., if you finish your bachelor's degree and enter a master's program);
- If you change your passport due to a change of surname, first name, or patronymic (make sure to provide the university with a copy of your new passport so your information can be updated in the student registry);
- If the card's validity period expires (in this case, you can apply for a reissue one month before the card's expiration).
